With the advent of managed health care, behavioral health insurance can sometimes be complicated. Often the company that manages your behavioral health coverage is not the same company that has issued your primary insurance. There are also a wide range of co-pay amounts, and number of sessions that will be covered depending on your particular plan.

If you have insurance it is best to call the behavioral or mental health carrier listed on your card to find out how much, if any your co-pay will be, how many times you may be seen, and who you can see. You will also most likely (but not always) need preauthorization before you can be seen. This will be in the form of an authorization number that will either be given to you or will be mailed to the therapist. There are many behavioral health insurance carriers in the Western New York area. The following are among those that I currently accept.

If your plan is not on the above list, due to the complexities of managed care I may still be able to take it. Please call, email or use the information request form, if you have any questions about whether or not I accept your insurance. Even if I am not listed as a provider with your plan, it is still often possible to arrange with your insurance company for you to be seen.

If you do not have insurance please contact me to discuss my fee structure. Based on your circumstances, and needs, together we will work out the best way for you to get the counseling and support that you require.
